In August 2009, Gold Resource Corporation acquired claims adjacent to the Las Margaritas property in the Alta Gracia Mining District totaling 5,175 hectares. We refer to this property as Alta Gracia.
During 2010, we conducted surface sampling and geologic mapping at Alta Gracia. Our rock chip samples and other geologic field work have identified several structural targets containing gold and silver mineralization, including three high-grade polymetallic veins that outcrop on the surface near some historic workings. During 2010 and 2011, multiple drill targets were identified. The Company also conducted a small amount of underground exploration by driving drifts and crosscuts into exposed veins.
In 2012, a preliminary drill program was completed consisting of twelve surface diamond drill holes totaling 3,262 meters (10,702 feet). Drill results were encouraging and will be assessed to help plan further drilling campaigns. In 2013, exploration on the property included the property-wide airborne geophysical survey.
